The journey so far....
Where it began
This gorgeous boy is the simple answer, after getting him as a puppy in 2017 and taking him for walks in the Goyt Valley, I started seeing a barn owl regularly and got my first DSLR camera in the summer in the hope of capturing some shots while out walking.
After a lot of practice and many many visits to the same location, I finally managed to get what I call a wow shot of a barn owl, something I had wanted for sometime and worked so hard to try and get, while respecting the animal at all times, no flash, no baiting, just me my camera and nature oh and a dog on a lead trying to pull me, giving me camera shake etc. I was so happy with the shot and looking back now years later I still love it.
4 years later, my love of wildlife and owls especially has grown, my photography has hopefully improved and every chance I can get (with a busy family life and a full time job) I am out with my camera hunting for that picture that puts a smile on my face when I get it right. While out with the camera you inevitably bump in to people and have a chat, on the 11th April this year I bumped in to a man on a quiet country road and we chatted about photography and wildlife and I soon worked out who it was. Within 20mins of us saying goodbye, my life and Facebook page changed for ever. My page went from 400 followers and now sits at 25,000+ I will be forever indebted to Villager Jim and every follower, every like, every share and every lovely comment. Everyone of you puts a smile on my face everyday thank you one and all. I will post as often as I can and hopefully put a smile on your face as well. THE END (of the story so far...)
